Archery Elk and Mule Deer Hunting
Bow hunting is our specialty. We have been successfully taking bow hunters for more than 25 years. This has given us the knowledge and ability to get you within bow range of Colorado’s big game. There is nothing quite like bow hunting elk. It is an experience you will never forget. Bulls bugling in the predawn darkness, the musty smell of a rank old bull fresh out of a wallow, antlers thrashing against brush and trees, all happening 50 yards away while adrenaline takes over your body, you stand shaking, just waiting to the perfect shot. All of our guided archery hunts are Wilderness Pack-in. We also offer semi-guided hunts in the Wilderness or on Private Land for the do-it-yourself type.
Wilderness Pack-in Archery Hunts
On this hunt we pack into the wilderness to our base camp, deep into the heart of Elk country. The hunting area consists of deep grassy valleys, stands of dark timber, high ridges, and parks of alpine tundra above timberline. Numerous wallows decorate the many secluded basins. Mornings usually include bugling bulls. Afternoons will find you sitting active wallows or high on a ridge glassing elk formulating a plan of attack. All of our guided hunts are 2 hunters per guide and our camps are never overbooked. Even though our camps are extremely remote they are still well outfitted. We also have spike camps that are
set in even more remote areas that seldom see a hunter. We specialize in small camps and high success. Archery wilderness trips are 6 days of hunting with a day of travel at each end to make an 8 day total trip. This trip is also available Semi-Guided. On a semi-guided trip we provide a fully outfitted camp and food. Everything is the same as a guided trip, but with out the guide. Do take into consideration in the wilderness guided hunters have a much higher success rate. Having a guide that knows the country and the game by your side is invaluable.

Wilderness Pack-in Timberline Mule Deer Hunting
For this hunt we pack deep into the Uncompahgre Wilderness and hunt these Monster Mule Deer above timberline and beyond. Each summer these big boys call this area home. For several years we have only hunted elk in these drainages, and left the deer undisturbed. After several years of scouting and drooling over these bucks we have opened the first two weeks of archery season to hunt these trophies. There has not been trophy potential like this for 30 years. This is the most action packed hunt available today.

These mule deer are living in extreme altitudes and tremendously tough country. If you are up to the challenge the game is there for the taking.

Private Land Archery Elk and Mule Deer Hunts
Not only is this is a great combination elk and mule deer bow hunt, you may also encounter some color phase black bears. Also a private lake full of rainbow and brook trout is available for fishing. This ranch also adjoins a large tract of the Uncompahgre National Forest that can only be accessed through private land. Below, the ranch borders a parcel of Colorado 
State Wildlife Area. This is a great bow hunting opportunity that is rarely found. Our ranch has produced several P&Y quality animals throughout the years and it seems to improve every year. This is a Semi-Guided hunt. It is a hybrid of a Drop Camp and a Guided Hunt. You get freedom of a drop camp without the hassles of cooking and camp chores. You are provided with lodging, two home cooked meals a one sack lunch per day, riding horses, tree stands, and a guide in camp to offer advice and show you around the ranch. With everything in camp taken care of you can concentrate or harvesting game. If you like the challenges of hunting by yourself, but dislike cooking for yourself, and probably eating MRE’S, this is the perfect hunt for you. Like all of our archery hunts there are 6 days of hunting and 2 days to get in and out for a total trip of 8 days.
