Action Advantage
There are several advantages to hunting with Action Adventures. First and foremost we pride ourselves in quality personalized service. Groups are kept small to ensure that all clients receive the personal attention we promise. Our guided and outfitted camps are limited to six hunters. All guided hunts are two hunters per guide. I personally oversee all of the guided hunts, to insure your complete satisfaction. The actual hunting is a big part of your trip but a prepared camp, 
quality livestock, and well maintained equipment all add to the total enjoyment of your trip. All of our livestock is well broke, trained and conditioned for the mountainous terrain. Our equipment is top notch with your safety and comfort our main concern. Our qualified staff is always there to meet your needs.
As a second generation outfitter and a fifth generation Western Colorado resident growing up in the wilds of the San Juan Mountains, I have a vast knowledge of the game, their habits, and the wild country in which they live. Providing quality wilderness experiences is a way of life here, and your complete satisfaction is our main objective. We are not the largest outfitter in terms of number of clientele we take each year, nor do we want to be. We do want to be the best in making your memories great and ones that you will soon want to repeat.
As you search for an Outfitter you may find many hunts are less expensive than ours. Remember the old adage "you get what you pay for". There are many expenses that go into operating a quality outfitting service from; maintaining and training a large remuda of horses and mules, utilizing quality guides, cooks and wranglers, providing good home cooked meals, and do not forget the permit fees, land leases, liability insurance and state licensing. Fully guided trips that sell for these "to good to be true prices" generally are, to good to be true. Something has to be left out; poor equipment and livestock, ill prepared cooks and guides, and in some of the worst circumstances no license or permit and definitely no insurance. Or they make up for the price by having way to many hunters in camp at one time.

Action Adventures is a licensed (#660), bonded, insured Colorado Outfitter. We are permitted under a special use permit by the USDA Forest Service to operate in the Uncompahgre Wilderness Area. We are a full time professional outfitter taking Elk and Mule Deer is all we do and it is what we do best. Action Adventures and Jay Mitchell have been providing quality service to its clients since its inception in the early 80's. Now after five years of guiding and a lifetime of learning and following in Jay’s footsteps I Justin Mitchell, am going to continue this tradition of excellence. Great care is taken to see that your trip is a success, whether it be a fully guided elk hunt or a remote drop camp. We settle for no less than your complete satisfaction!
